In our early days, a significant number of our members were heavily involved in racing. SCCC was originally the Sunnyvale Cupertino Competitive Cycling Club. Even seasoned Silicon Valley cyclists are often not aware that we’ve been around nearly 25 years and were the originators of the Spectrum ride (one of the largest, fastest weekly group rides).
SCCC has evolved into a more casual group of road riders, with a focus on riding some of the most challenging and beautiful routes in the San Francisco Bay Area. We enjoy each other’s company as much as we enjoy riding!
Many of us are active with organizations like the League of American Bicyclists, working to make bicycling safer across the country. All members are automatically enrolled in the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, whose purpose is to create a healthy community, environment, and economy through bicycling in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.
